Quality Australian Shepherds, Border Collies & Rhodesian Ridgebacks

We are a active breeding and showing kennel of working- and showtyped Dogs. Our main breeds are the Australian Shepherds, the Border Collie and the Rhodesian Ridgeback. Especially the Rhodesian Ridgeback is very important for us as a main breed, as I, the kennel founder, grew up with some stunning dogs of that breed. I will always keep them in my heart and so I fell in love with that breed. I added the Australian Shepherd when I first started my kennel, but reduced the amount of Australian Shepherds to a minimum as i wasn't having that much time for my kennel anymore. When I came back to it, I retired most of them, as they weren't of that much quality in my eyes to breed them. The standards are very important and my first dogs were not really fitting the standard. I still want to keep that breed because of the amazing Australian Shepherd we received from out friend Clarissa from the Phantom Kennel and the Angelic Kennel now. He gave us another reason to keep that breed. With the time i came more and more inside the community of the Sims United Kennel Club and became an active member, talked to a lot of other breeders and visited their kennels, what made me fall in love with a third breed: The Border Collie. There are many other Border Collie breeders around the community, so this breed has a high variety of genepools to mix the perfect dog together. I will always keep that goal in my mind while breeding them, what effects my choice of which puppy to keep from every litter. I plan on showing my dogs actively to make them earn titles to prove their high quality, that will later be used in the litters.

We from Lionlyx Kennel show our dogs in almost every competition available: Agility, Herding, Disc Trials, Dock Diving, Carting Shows, Hunting Trials, Racing, Obedience and with our new addition Tatjana, a German Shepherd bitch, we will show her in Schutzhund Trials and Weight Pull Shows. Our showtyped dogs will be shown recently in Conformation Shows but will also be able to look behind the courtains of some sporting and working competitions to keep them busy. And our workingtype dogs will do their best in any competitions fitting their qualities. If there is a workingtype conformation show at the SUKC they will also be shown, but their focus will be on sporting and working shows. Lately we built a new kennel lot and a brand new Conformation Show Arena, where our dogs already trained their stacking and gaiting.

Focused on every individual dog personality and its needs

Every dog has its personal handler that will care for it 24/7 - every single minute will be spend with their new compagnion! The Handlers will make sure that the dog get its weekly vet checkup done and will be cared for. They will train each dog to its personal needs and focus on their character. Competitions won't be entered if the handler says so. The dog will be trained in the competitions it will do best or may do best. Handlers meet the dogs at puppy stage when it first visits our kennel and will come to pick the puppy and bring it home. The relationship between a dog and its personal handler is stronger than one can imagine. Each handler is picked carefully and will be checked up before getting a dog. We are very picky with out handlers and our dogs, they have to fit together perfectly. This requires a good eye from our side to asses a handler while getting to know him or her and from the other side it requires very good evaluation assets of the breeders kennel of the puppy to judge the puppies character in the few weeks it stays in the breeders kennel. Only perfect combinations of handler and dog will result in high show quality of both.

Even if some handlers may seem a little weird at first sight, everyone has its chance to become a member of our kennel. We have very friendly and high qualified employees who won't judge you at first sight. If you want to know something about our litters and studdings, please have a look at our Services where we keep you up to date about planned litters and you will even be able to look up our past litters.
